What are the best private servers for any MMORPGs?

Not so long ago, a friend was telling me how he had re-discovered the magic of MMOs in private servers. I started to research it and found servers that hosted games. So now I'm willing to try play in these private servers. Does anyone know any good private servers for any MMO? I'm mainly looking for heavily populated ones for all MMOs (not just WoW), idc if it's p2w or anything along those lines.

Thanks!!!! !

Edit: Looking for servers that are highly populated and offer accelerated rates?

Edit2: This is a very open-ended question because everyone plays different games and has different experiences. I want to hear all of them, not just from one MMO but all.

For eq. For eq., check out p99. I heard they now have a private one.

I mainly play the ffxi private servers. There are many options. Ffxiera provides quick xp with lots of custom content.

Nasomi is an option for large populations that have limited custom content.

Eden is the best option for a retail-like experience.

I won't argue about which one is best, they are all unique. All offer something for people who are interested.

I have a memory of a Star Wars Galaxy server. I don't know enough about the game to be able to describe it. I don't know the name of the server. Serverlist101

MMOs, in my opinion, today are no match for classic games. I hope that you find one you enjoy and get your fix.

P99 is definitely the go to suggestion for EQ as the player base is high and it's a pretty accurate classic era server. Some of the benefits can also be disadvantages. Everquest is very group-oriented. This means that if you are short on time, you may be spending your whole time waiting to join a team. There's no boxing allowed and not every class can solo or can only solo once they reach a certain level. Just stuff to keep in kind.

My personal go-to is P2002. The expansions that followed the P99 cutoff have added a lot more quality to life stuff. The server allows 3 boxes per player. The server pop isn’t large. There are only about 100 players at peak times, but everyone is friendly. The world still feels alive. Beyond that I'm just more nostalgic for that era even tho I played both.

SWGemu for Star Wars Galaxies is what I know. But that's no "accelerated rates" nor anything. I believe they're redoing it OG

I tried Eden (FFXI) recently and couldn't find a party to dunes. Nasomi's owner allegedly has a history in power-tripping.

ffxiera

Is this a sign of trust? I would love to jump back at ffxi, but right now I can basically playing only solo

+1 for p99. I have been playing it since 2010; every second of it is a joy.

There was a Warhammer one I found a while ago. It seemed to have many people. Return of Reckoning, I believe it was called. That was a fun game, and I'd probably even enjoy PvP there and I normally hate PvP.

It's one of the only good PVP games out there. PVP groups can be joined by anyone, so you won't feel left out.

ye it is called return of reckoning there are still around 1k people playing everyday and its pretty much just all pvp

Return of Reckoning is amazing, I knocked out 10+ people off a bridge to their deaths in a abyss.

Have you ever tried City of Heroes? The Homecoming server was launched a few months ago and has thousands of players.

It is my favorite private server experience. It has a large population, generous players who support the server financially, no pay-to win cash shop and the game runs flawlessly. I haven’t encountered a single bug in over 100 hours of playing there.

I'd give it another shot if you think that you'd enjoy MMOs featuring superheroes.

I use to play COH and COV allllllll the time till it shut down!! I'll have the chance to give it a go, do you have any links?

I wish private servers for marvel heroes existed.

It's a surprise that Marvel has not released a MMORPG. DC's is alright, I guess.

According to what I know, it existed while the game was still being developed. It was a small, closed group. It was only 30 people. They claimed that one of the Gazillion employees was working with them on it, so they kept it very small and private.

They said they could make it match the live version in a matter of hours due to the way it was set up. Speaking with City of Heroes emulation group members, they heard rumors of a leak of Marvel Heroes' server code. But, because they fear Disney much more than NCsoft, nobody was brave enough launch a private one.

But I still hope to one day get the chance to play it again. MUA 1 and 2 no longer scratch that itch, and I have a feeling MUA 3 won't either. MUA 3 is still my favorite, but I want to play more Marvel Heroes. It's my favorite game on Steam.

UO: Outlands. Amazing server. Highly populated. Never p2w. Professional. Amazing PvE and pvP. I don't have the time to add more. You must play...

The best for sure

ragnarok online private servers have been a thing for almost two decades, and it's still thriving. the populated ones have learned from the experiences of previous private servers and constantly improves. www.ratemyserver.net to see the complete list.

OriginsRO is my favorite. It started vanilla and has been progressing through the expansions - we just got Lighthalzen. It's been around for more than 5 years and now has around 1000 inhabitants.

NovaRO is the biggest RO private server with over 3k players. It's Renewal. There is some custom content, but nothing too distracting if you are looking for a retail experience. They do have a cash store.

TalonRO is a pre-renewal server with lots of custom content and is almost as big as Nova. Although I didn't enjoy this one as much, many people really like it so you should check it out.
