Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates RecordBreaking Tourism Entry Numbers from the United States

NEW YORK, Sept. 8, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- The Israel Ministry of Tourism announced today record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States visiting Israel in the months of July and August. The country received 78,000 travelers from the United States during July 2022, an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 tourists from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% growth over 2019.

"It is thrilling to once again see an rise in the number of tourists visiting Israel from the United States, already reaching and surpassing our record-breaking numbers of 2019." stated Eyal Carlin, Tourism Commissioner for North America. "The United States has been our largest destination for tourism to Israel that is inbound. Prior to the outbreak of COVID-19 we were celebrating record number of Israeli tourism entries each month.

Canada is on track to surpass Israel's tourist arrivals by attracting 7,200 tourists to Israel in July 2022 and 6,600 in August.

"It is so exciting to see how Canada's tourism to Israel is growing," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We aren't far off our record 2019 and we are anticipating that the growth in travels to Israel will continue to increase as Canadians are more comfortable traveling internationally."

In the year 2019, Israel welcomed more than 4.6 million global tourists 969,600 of whom came from the United States, and since its official reopening for all travelers regardless of the status of their vaccination in May of this year Israel has received more than 600,400 US visitors.
