Minecraft Gets A New unified PC Launcher For Java And Bedrock

"We're introducing a special feature - the unified Minecraft launcher!" Mojang Studios creative writer Cristina Anderca announces in a blog post. "Instead of having separate launchers in Java Edition or Bedrock, you will now be able to launch both Minecraft versions from the same game launcher."
Later, the post states: "Minecraft has never felt so easy to play on PC. dk's blog I know you'll enjoy it just as much as me." So far, I've been switching between the two editions of minecraft and marveling at how easy it is. I beg your pardon, I must learn who came up this idea to send fan mail.
The Minecraft Launcher is a new feature that allows you to launch Minecraft: Java Edition, Minecraft: Minecraft: Java Edition, and even their dungeon crawler spinoff Minecraft Dungeons from the same location. This explanation can be found on Minecraft's help page. It's available via the Windows store here and it lets you launch Minecraft, Minecraft: Java Edition, and even their dungeon crawler spin-off Minecraft Dungeons from the same location - a "one-stop portal into the Minecraft universe", as the store page describes it. You don’t need it to get into these games. It’s only a useful option in the event that you want to access them all with one launcher.
Turn up that jukebox and light up the skies in fireworks: Minecraft is now included in Game Pass for PC! This means you get Java and Bedrock in your subscriptions, as well as a unified launcher that works for both editions.

Although the launcher comes free, you will need to purchase the games separately or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate to be able to access them through it. Somewhat confusingly, there was an old launcher called 'Minecraft Unified Launcher', which was specifically for Windows 7 and 8 and only launched Java Edition and Minecraft Dungeons. Mojang recommends you uninstall this launcher in order to run the new version.
