Game developer Mojang last year unexpectedly announced that it was working on Minecraft Dungeons -- a blocky take on the classic dungeon crawlers. Now PRIORITY GAME are aware of the date we can anticipate it coming to the market. It was originally scheduled for 2019. Microsoft now announces that the game will launch on Xbox One, PC, Switch and PS4 in April of next year.

The game has a distinctive Minecraft appearance and style however, it also is a departure from the series' standard formula. Instead of letting the players play with their imaginations on a vast, wide canvas, Dungeons is an adventure game packed with characters, quests items, and enemies and is playable by up to four people online.

Dungeons is an obsession for the team of a few at Mojang, but it's not the only Minecraft spin-off around. Mojang was also responsible for Minecraft: Story Mode. This narrative-driven adventure game proved very popular when it was released in the year 2015.

According to Microsoft's most recent -- and rather ambiguous trailer, players who sign up on Mojang's website will be in with the chance of playing Dungeons first, possibly hinting at a beta in advance of the official launch in April. But when exactly that will happen is not yet clear.
