Microsoft Teases New Xbox Game With Popular Developer Hideo Kojima

Microsoft announced that it has partnered with the renowned game maker Hideo Kojima. Kojima is the director of popular games like Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding for the Xbox video game console. Kojima announced the partnership via a message recorded on his phone but didn't give any further details on what the game will look like, what it'll be called or even when it's being released.



Kojima said that it could take some time, using a translator during the announcement. Kojima suggested that Microsoft's cloud gaming technology would be a major part of the title, stating that it was a game Kojima "always wanted" to create.



Microsoft's announcement was part of its annual summer announcement event, which featured reveals of the new action game Minecraft Legends and the space adventure title Starfield, both coming in the coming year. Microsoft also used the event to announce details about forthcoming releases of upcoming titles like Activision Blizzard's online battle game Overwatch 2 and its next big dungeon horror title, Diablo 4.



Kojima's team is also working on a sequel to its cult PlayStation game, Death Stranding.
