How To Play Multiplayer Minecraft Pocket Edition

Playing Minecraft: Pocket Edition alone is plenty fun, but add some friends to your screen and it's even better. Here's how.

Multi-playing is not possible without the latest version of the game (0.12.1). It costs $6.99 USD.

Playing Minecraft Pocket Edition locally

Local play allows you to play with your friends (upto five players) in the same world, but only when you are all connected to the same WiFi connection. Toggle the "Local Server Multiplayer” switch in your game settings.

First, decide whose world you want to play in and load up that game on that person's device. This device will now act as the host.

To allow your friends join, they need to tap "play", and then select the new (highlighted in blue), world that appears at their top.

That's it; they're in! Get ready to explore, dig, create, and chase creepers-whatever that is!

Connect to Minecraft Pocket Edition gaming servers

If you want to play with more players who are not on the same Wi-Fi connection, you might want to consider using servers.

Servers are often online worlds that players have created and have opened to others.

Many of these servers require registration, while others are open to everyone. To find a server, try MinecraftPocket-Servers or Minecraft Pocket Edition Servers and browse for a world that you'd like to join.
