In October, Minecraft developer Mojang announced that part two of their massive Caves and Cliffs update would be out in "a month or two". It's getting close to here, as Mikael Hedberg who is the Technical Lead of Minecraft Java Edition, has just tweeted something a little mysterious.

While it might not sound like much, the Mojang employees are famous for using Twitter to tease new features. The tweet's subject line, specifically "preparing" suggests that there will be a sequel to Caves and Cliffs.

Pre-releases typically occur a few days or weeks before the official release of the new update and are used as a transition between "snapshots" - the testing ground for new features that players can select and the final update, which should be as close to being completed as it is possible. 1.17's last update was released on May 27th. The full update was released on June 8th.

What is this implying? It's a good thing, because it means we won't have to wait long for the 1.18 update that will add a stunning new world generation to your Minecraft worlds. It could even arrive before the end of November! boasted

Mojang also announced in this year's Minecraft Live presentation that the Deep Dark biome and its new mob, The Warden, would be delayed until 2022's update, The Wild.

Is your server set up for the update? Have you tried the snapshots? Please let us know what you think in the comments!
