Jason Momoa To Star In Minecraft LiveAction Movie At Warner Bros

LOS ANGELES (Variety.com) - From the watery kingdom of Atlantis to the dangerous deserts of Arrakis, Jason Momoa may be heading to the video game world of Minecraft for Warner Bros., Variety has confirmed.



The "Aquaman", "Dune" and "Dance" stars are in talks to star in a live-action movie based upon the hugely popular Minecraft videogame. It is the most-sold game ever, with more than 238,000,000 copies sold since its 2011 release.



Jared Hess, who is known for his work on "Napoleon Dynamite", "Nacho Libre", and other films, will direct the film. Mary Parent and Roy Lee will produce, and Jill Messick will receive a posthumous credit for working on the film prior to her death in 2018. i'm here Jon Berg, Cale Boyter, and Jon Spaihts are the executive producers. Mojang Studios, a Swedish video game developer behind Minecraft will produce via Lydia Winters or Vu Bui.



Momoa has "Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom" as his next project. He is also revving up his engine to "Fast and Furious 10."
